Dimapur Timber Industries Association (DTIA) has clarified to allegations in regard to allotment of wagons by NTTU.
DTIA has clarified that quarterly allotment of wagons is done by Special Investigation Team (SIT) working under Central Empowered Committee (CEC) under Supreme Court’s directive.
In a release by president DTIA Azheto Zhimomi clarified that the wagons are allotted only to registered tree farmers under Nagaland Tree Farming Act and that every quarter records are sent to SIT. Allotment of wagons for moulding is done to the units registered with the department and each registered unit having finished product, is given wagons, stated Zhimomi.
He said that the allegation meted to forest ministry of taking money for the allotting wagons does not rise since wagons are allotted by SIT.
The association also said department of forest was allotting the wagons to the genuine traders as per rules and regulation of the forest Act.
