Khuzha/Khezha committee celebrates 75 anniv

Khuzha/Khezha Committee celebrated its 75th anniversary Pfutsero, Phek district on November 28 at Pfutsero local ground under the theme “reaffirmation of peace and unity’’.
During the celebration, the members reaffirmed the spirit of the covenant made by forefathers “sharing intestine knots as an oath to uphold peace and solidarity of 21 members villages” and to refrain from practices of headhunting, use of weaponry and shedding of blood.
They also prayed to Lord to help to carry on the legacy for oneness in Christ for perpetuity among “us and to all mankind.”
Formed in 1939, Khuzha/Khezha committee has tremendously influenced the people to maintain social harmony and improve inter-village relationship based on common tradition and culture.
One of the biggest and most significant contributions of the committee was the establishment of the present Government Higher Secondary School at Pfutsero.
 The committee also brought peace which is one of the most essential elements in a society for human co-existence. The leaders’ firm belief in peace has brought unity, prosperity, friendship and love among the villages.
Parliamentary secretary for higher education & SCERT Deo Nukhu and parliamentary secretary for planning & coordination, evaluation and monitoring cell Neiba Kronu spoke on the occasion.
Both of them acknowledged the contributions of the Committee on various fronts and hoped that it would continue to carry forward its vision and target for progress, peace and unity of the community.
Reverend Dr. V.K. Nuh pronounced act of blessings and reaffirmation. Greeting was shared by president Chakhesang Public Organization.
Meanwhile, former president Khuzha Committee Neipelo Thopi, unveiled the monolith stone while former finance minister K. Therie released the souvenir.
Foundation stone was laid by political advisor to chief minister Nagaland Kewezu G. Kenye.
Earlier, Sanyi Dukru, president Khuzha/Khezha Committee delivered presidential address while vote of thanks was proposed by vice president Khuzha Committee Dingulo Khutso. Cultural regal also marked the occasion, which was graced by president Tenyimi Public Organization (TPO) Timikha Koza, as cultural guest and feast father. The programme was chaired by organizing committee chairman Kevechutso Doulo.
