Delhi Ao Baptist Church (DABC) has organised a one- day seminar on March 6 for the personnel of Nagaland Armed Police stationed at Safdarjung Airport, New Delhi, on the topic “Responsibility of Christian father and drug abuse.”
SupongchitenLongkumer, Evangelist, DABC, and Dr. Lanuwabang, Chief Medical Officer, CGHS, were the resource persons. Supongchiten, who spoke on the responsibility of a father in every aspect of family life, said father has a moral responsibility toward his family be it spiritual or social or relationship with the family. He urged them to take up the privilege of being a father.
In the afternoon session, Dr Lanuwabang gave a lecture on the need of medical awareness on drug abuse, alcoholism, HIV/AIDS and the recent case of swine flu. Both the sessions were followed by discussion and deliberation involving questions and queries on the respective topic.
The seminar was organised by the Mission Board of the DABC in realising the need to educate and assist the police personnel.
It may be mentioned that many of them are in Delhi away from their family and face many unseen problem like stress, depression, longing for loved ones, drug and alcohol abuse, etc. The church has decided to assist the Nagaland Police personnel through the project “Mission Nagaland Police” under the aegis of the Mission Board. The church has decided to conduct seminars, counseling etc. periodically to reach out to the needy.
About 100 police personnel attended the seminar.
