Department of Agriculture, Wokha, has organized a programme on distribution of Truthfully Labelled Seeds (TLS) on March 13 at District Agriculture Office, Wokha, with SDO (C) Mhomo Tungoe as the chief guest.
On the occasion, Tungoe said agriculture sector held an important position in the world economy adding both the central and state government gave utmost importance for the role it played. He said the world was more inclined towards organic products because of health benefits.
Nagaland being a state which produces organic products, he said one should be proud and be a thriving force for the farmers and people in general. He also appreciated the contribution made by the farmers to agricultural sector and encouraged to do the same which could be achieved when all involved put their heart on the same mission for one goal.
DAO Wokha, C Peter Yanthan, in his keynote address, briefed on TLS which was a part of the ongoing NFSM programme implemented in the state.
He highlighted the importance of the mission and encouraged the farmers to actively participate. He also assured department’s aid to farmer and urged the farmers to continue their co-operation for the success of the programme.
The department distributed 5 varieties of TLS to 35 farmers from 10 villages under Wokha.
