A joint team of VK Range Students Union (VKRSU) and VK Town Students Union (VKTSU) inspected the lone GHS VK under VK Area on April 27 and interacted with students and encouraged them to be disciplined and work hard for quality education.
The team also held a meeting with the teachers and authorities of GHS VK. It was learnt that GHS VK is one of the most neglected government schools in Nagaland. It was made known that the school, despite having the highest students enrolment under Zunheboto district, was left neglected by the government.
The school was earlier a private institution which was later taken up by the Government in 1963 and the present school building is 52 years old which is in pathetic condition.
It stated that both the teachers and students are undergoing untold hardships as the building is on the verge of collapse.
Noting the plight of the teachers and students, the team has requested the authorities concerned to look into the issue with seriousness and intervene at the earliest.
