
Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre,Wokha organized four day training programme on “Livelihood Improvement of Tribal Farmers through Integrated Farming System Approach” from May 5 to 8 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Conference Hall with Project Director, ATMA Dr. Mhonchan Shitiri as the chief guest.
During the programme, he released the training manual entitled “Livelihood Improvement of Tribal Farmers through Integrated Farming System (IFS) Approach” edited by Sanjay Kumar Ray, Dibyendu Chatterjee, Bl. Mhalo Tungoe, Megokhono Meyase and Bidyut C. Deka.
The resource person of the training were Joint Director, ICAR, Nagaland Centre, scientist from Animal Science, Soil Science, Horticulture, Plant Pathology and SMS from different department.
The programme includes training like relevance of agro-forestry in Integrated Farming System (IFS), role of to soil and water conservation measures in intensive integrated farming system, nutrient recycling and resource management through organic farming, horticulture based integrated farming system etc.
All together 19 farmers from different villages attended the four day training programme.
