Home deptt directs DCs on arm licenses

In view of MHA’s directive to implement National Database of Arms Licenses (NDAL) in all the states, Nagaland Home department in a circular has directed all deputy commissioners (DCs) not to issue/accept any fresh arms license application forms for time being till the process is completed. Each arms license would have an electronically generated Unique Identity Number (UID). All states have been directed to complete the process by October 15, 2015 after which any arm license without UID number would become invalid. Home department said that “all the DCs in the state are hard pressed to implement this project”. It said that as on March 31, 2015 over 3000 arms license applications had accumulated in the Home Department pending to be disposed. All DCs have been requested to strictly adhere to this circular till further order.
