
A skill development and enterprise training for Commodity Interested Group (CIG) villages (Kisetong, Yangzitong, Tetheyo and Tetheze villages) was conducted by Assistant Registrar of Cooperation Societies (ARCS) Kiphire conducted at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall Kiphire on 16 May.
Altogether, 40 participants attended the training with ARCS Kiphire senior inspector S.Kakuto Chopy and agriculture officer Kiphire Vishiyi as resource persons.
ARCS Kiphire senior inspector explained on the audit and also elaborated on the management of cash provided by the government. He further explained the objective of the Commodity Interested Group (CIG), saying it was to raise the balance of economy and increase the security of livelihood. He said it also seeks to increase public investment in Agriculture and Allied Sectors, to ensure local needs/crops priority according to climatic conditions and maximize returns of the farmers in agriculture and allied sectors. It is also aimed at mobilising farmers into CIG and provide assistance for production and marketing. Chopy also explained about RKVY and cooperation and on modern methods of potato farming. Agriculture officer Kiphire enlightened the gathering on pest management. Assistant Registrar Cooperation Society Kiphire Lirise Sangtam delivered welcome address.
