ACAUT Nagaland, through its media cell met the state chief secretary on June 26 and submitted a memorandum stressing on need to take action against backdoor appointments in the RD department which was highlighted in the media.
Stating that action was necessary for the sake of educated unemployed youth and student community, ACAUT also briefed the chief secretary on why a Staff Selection Board(SSB) should not be constituted to centrally conduct exams for all posts not under the purview of NPSC exams. ACAUT also submitted a copy of the memorandum to the State Vigilance Commissioner for filing of case, stated media cell. ACAUT clarified that highlighting of backdoor appointments in RD was just the beginning and therefore cautioned PIOs of departments, to furnish “true and correct information” to queries. It also warned that wrong information would attract the attention of Chief Information Officer(CIC) but also lead ACAUT to publicly question such PIOs. ACAUT’s memorandum issued by its chairman L.Supong Ao and secretary Zhalie Chuzho listed 36 appointed through ‘backdoor’ in the RD. ACAUT demanded termination of services and prosecution of appointing authorities.
