New church under the patronage of Sacred Heart was blessed by Bishop of Kohima, Rev. Dr. James Thoppil and inaugurated by commissioner & secretary, F. P. Solo on July 5.
In his speech, chief guest Solo congratulated and appreciated “the small catholic community in the village” for their team work towards building the church. He further reminded that “it is the Christians who are the real temple, the living temple of the Holy Spirit” and said that “external worship in the church will not give glory to God” except for human satisfaction only.
In his homily, Rev. Fr. Carolus Neisalhou explained the difference between temple and synagogues saying the former was connected with Jewish culture while the latter with religion proper and exhorted the people “to use the church truly to worship God”.
