
Diocesan priests of the Diocese of Kohima celebrated the feast of their patron, St. John Mary Vianney on August 3 and 4 at the campus of Development Association of Nagaland (DAN) with Parish Priest and St. Joseph’s Parish, Chumkedima principal Rev. Fr. Sajan Joseph as the main celebrant.
In his homily, he highlighted the noble qualities of St. John Mary Vianney by stating that St. John had been an outstanding person in humility and poverty, in prayer and mortification who had been devoted to the service of God’s people.
The Eucharistic celebration on the 2nd day was presided by the vicar general of the diocese Rev. Fr. Carolus Neisalhou and concelebrated by all the priests present.
During the two days celebration, new office bearers of the Diocesan Fraternity with Rev. Fr. Jacob Charalel as the president, Rev. Fr. Kokto Kurian as the secretary and Rev. Fr. Antony Rozu Dukrii as the treasurer were elected.
The community of provincial house, congregation of the Mother of Carmel (CMC) facilitated the singing during the celebration and made arrangement for the mass.
The programme was hosted by the director of DAN Rev. Fr. S. Charles. Rev. Fr. Jose Sebastian, Rev. Fr. James K. C and Rev. Fr. Ntonse John extended help for the success of the celebration.
