Following the expiry of its five-day final call served to SCERT and ministry concerned on the relocation of DIET Tuensang, the Confederation of Chang Students’ Union (CCSU) on Wednesday picketed DIET Tuensang for indefinite period.
In a press statement, CCCU vice president Kelep Chang and speaker Nokching Somba said after much deliberation and processes through democratic means the implementation remain unattended.
CCSU also said that SCERT and concerned minister have not responded to the issue raised by them.
Therefore, the confederation said it resorted to picketing for indefinite period to demand immediate implementation of the long lapsed issue on DIET Tuensang.
CCSU said the second phase of agitation would begin on August 28, where it would resort to total bandh in Tuensang town. They said the bandh is “projected” to continue until such “desirous commitment” and demand was fulfilled.
It, further, warned that in case of unwanted incidents arose during the agitation and public unrest, the consequences would be borne by SCERT and ministry concern.
