District Congress Committee (DCC) Dimapur has strongly condemned the August 23 incident, where an auto driver was injured and a passenger killed by a jawan of 13 IRB at railway station.
In a press release, DCC general secretary (Adm) Hollohon Chishi said such irresponsible and uncalled action by IRB personal needed to be strongly condemned. It stated that the jawan had displayed his arrogance by taking law into his own hands, thereby demeaning the entire battalion.
DCC lauded the prompt action of the Dimapur police in arresting the jawan and further urged the law enforcing agency to give exemplary punishment to the erring jawan. It further stated that such harassment by jawans on the pretext of frisking for security reason must be stopped.
