Expressing resentment over glorifying Gaidinliu, Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) said that the “aggressive attempt” of Central and State governments to glorify a non-stakeholder and anti-Naga cult leader in the form of Gaidinliu’s Memorial Museum and erection of statue has created fury from all sections of society, imposing distasteful alien culture on the citizens of the state.
NTC media cell cautioned the state government “not to play with the sentiments of the people”.
It said enough expressions and rejections have been made to the “most unpopular and disgusting move of the state government, trying to portrait the image of the state and its people as worshipers of ‘cult leader’ and practices of “human sacrifices” to please her undefined spirit”.
NTC said if the government was so determined to go ahead with its anti-people agenda, it would be amounting to turning deaf ear to the sentiment of its citizens and miserably failing to read the writings on the wall.
