Green Succession of Nagaland state (Green-SONS) organised a commemoration programme during wildlife week at Dimapur Government College on October 7, in collaboration with DGC eco club and sponsored by wildlife wing Dimapur.
The programme was attended by students along with chairman Green-SONS Jess T. Murry and members and assistant professors of DGC.
During the programme, Jess T. Murry had illustrated the significance of wildlife week and urged everyone to live harmoniously with the faunal diversity of the state. He said that fauna has productive values, medicinal values, consumptive values and aesthetic value, without which the state would look dull if all the animals went extinct.
The convenor of DGC eco club and general secretary of DGCSU also spoke on the occasion and took a pledge to consciously conserve the wild animals.
