Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Kohima, organized a debate competition for the college students under the theme “Clean Election is possible in Nagaland” at the DC, Conference hall Kohima on October 9.
Ralu Keyho, BA 4th semester from Kohima college, Kohima scored the highest 118 points which was declared by the ADC, Kohima Lithrongla Tongpi. The second and third winners went to Veibizonuo Rupreo, Bsc 5th semester from Science College with 116 points and Pauninglunbe from St.Joshep College, Jakhama with points 106 points respectively.
The ADC congratulated all the participants and encouraged to clean up the electoral roll during the ongoing special summary revision of electoral roll by enrolling name in one place only and also called upon the participants to make deletions of death voters, double entries, corrections etc.
Two students each from 11 colleges in and around Kohima participated in the competition, one each for the motion and against motion. The motion Group was led by Japfu Christian College Ngukato L.Aye and against the motion was led by Alder college student Atopu.
The judges included Sr. News Reader, AIR, Jonas Yanthan, Revenue Officer, Kohima, T.L.Kiusumong Tikhir and Deputy Mission Director RMSA Dr. Kevi Rio. The competition was moderated by AEO,Kohima R.Mhathung Ngullie. Cash awards will be given to the winners during the State Level National Voters day on January 25.
