Reacting to a news report under ‘Congress delegates at Delhi’ media cell of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has instead dubbed them as ‘Disobedient Congress Members’ .
NPCC pointed out that the party constitution of Nagaland which has a “national outlook and a regional content” as per the 10-point modalities agreed with then AICC president Indira Gandhi and general secretary AICC A.R.Antulay.
Referring to the “Disobedient Congress Members’ who are in Delhi to meet AICC leaders, NPCC said the crux of the problem was about being a partner with BJP in the same government.
It said the AICC had no option but to suspend the Congress MLAs on May 9,2015 for ignoring the directive of the AICC. When good sense did not prevail, it said the leniency was taken as weakness and therefore, AICC decided to file disqualification petition against seven of them on September 4,2015.
NPCC also said disciplinary action against other members were necessitated for deliberately disregarding and disobeying order of superior committees and for carrying propaganda against the NPCC executive and the NPCC president in a calculated manner to lower the prestige of the party.
NPCC charged the party members of organising support for the defector-MLAs and demanding revocation of suspension orders and withdrawal of disqualification petition.
It said the members had also threatened that they would not cooperate with the party and ”behaved improperly” on September 24,2015 at the meeting of NPCC delegates in front of AICC general secretary and AICC secretary.
NPCC said these members had also nailed the office of NPCC president’s chamber and also held an unauthorised meeting inside the Congress Bhavan on October 16,2015. It also charged them of making “unfounded wild allegations” against NPCC president, the vice president and executive and termed the executive as a private executive committee. Further NPCC said H.Chuba Chang has been serve with a separate legal notice.
NPCC reiterated that it had nothing against any individual but only acted in defence of the party principles and directive from the AICC. It further sent a message, that those who did not believe in the principles of the Congress were free to leave the party and cannot use the name to be a partner with the BJP.
“We shall enforce the Constitution of NPCC and the Rules framed therein without prejudice” stated the media cell.
