Ao Kakektshir Mungdang (AKM) in a memorandum urged upon Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung to declare the date of interviews for appointment of different vacant posts within the current year.  In this regard AKM president, L. Jemti Longchar and general secretary, Bendangkumba Aier reminded DC on its earlier stand that only indigenous Naga inhabitants of Mokokchung should be issued admit card and called for interview.
The signatories pointed out that DC office had advertised different vacant posts in May 2015 and invited eligible candidates for interview and scheduled to be held on July 25, 2015.
However, the AKM, after it noticed some discrepancies in the selection and issuance of admit-cards, especially to non-indigenous citizens of Mokokchung, issued a representation to the district administration on July 6, 2015 for rectification.
Consequently, the scheduled interviews were cancelled indefinitely for “whatever reasons the government might have cited”, added AKM.
Since, then AKM said it waited patiently for more than four months, with the hope that the government was rectifying its error in issuing admit-cards to non-indigenous citizens of Mokokchung.
But, AKM said, there was no information from the district administration or government with regard to the issue, while thousands of indigenous Naga inhabitants of Mokokchung were expecting to be called for interviews.
AKM expressed hope that DC would take matter at the earliest in the interest of the smooth functioning of the district administration and also in the interest of public, especially students in particular.
