In routine checking, Kohima police manning Khuzama inter-state check gate recovered 100 kgs of contraband ganja from a Tata mobile (AS-01EC-8911 ) on November 19, SDPO Kohima cum PRO Atu zumvu said.
The consignment was neatly packed in 10 packets in the vehicle which was tagged with as “army duty” at its windshield. Another registration plate bearing (WB-57B-1782) was also recovered from the vehicle, PRO informed.
Three persons identified as Monuwar Hussain (23) son of Eusob Ali, a resident of Maligaon, Panitanki under Jalukbari PS, in Assam’s kamrup (M) district, Atikur Samad (23) son of Md. Sarmaj Ali, a resident of Naladahari under Lalgolai PS in West bengal’s Murshidabad and Md. Rafique Hussain (29) son of Md. Taher Ali, a resident of Boka Bazar, under Pandu PS in Assam’s Kamrup(M) district have been taken into police custody for possession and transportation of the contraband ganja.
In this connection, a regular case registered at Khuzama PS against them the three, PRO said.
