Khole’s speech on 8th unity & reconciliation day

GPRN/NSCN chairman ‘Gen’ (retd) Khole Konyak, in his speech on the 8th anniversary of Naga unity and reconciliation day, said the “ beautiful sunny morning on 22nd November 2007 soon gave way to ominous clouds over the horizon” and regrettably, some apex Naga organisations became a party to “Solution first and unity second’ and likened it to putting the cart before the horse. Reaffirming that GPRN/NSCN would not compromise on the political and historical rights of people of Nagaland, Khole said if S.S.Khaplang felt it practical to sign an agreement with Myanmar to improve the lives of Nagas, then who was he or Isak Chishi Swu or Singnya or any other, to oppose such a step? In the same manner, Khole said, if Th.Muivah “and his 3rd August Peace Accord” raised hopes of Nagas in Manipur, then there was no reason why Nagas of Nagaland panic. Khole said when Nagas in Manipur celebrated by lighting candles after signing of the peace accord, Nagaland “was like a ghost town”. Khole said both he and N.Kitovi Zhimomi believed that Naga sovereignty was inseparable and not abandoned.
