
Longchang Village Council (LVC) has strongly condemned the inhuman act meted out to two innocent civilians of Longchang by the public of Pongo village.
LVC demanded the concrete reasons behind such inhuman act.
In a press note, Longchang Village Council chairman P.E. Pangteang and general secretary H. Yeangngo stated that on December 11, the two civilians of Longchang village of Mon district were travelling to Pongo village of Longleng and on reaching the village, the duo were asked about their whereabouts.
It also stated that having made the details of their identities, the public of Pongo argued that they were looking out for people of Longchang and brutally assaulted the two victims around 10 p.m.
It added that in the process, there was a procession in the whole area of Pongo village and threatens the two with spears and machetes. However, the two miraculously escaped from Pongo village and reached Lonchang village on December 12 around 5 a.m.
