Kohima Law College Students Union (KLCSU) while airing some of the grievances faced by the law students has urged upon principal of Kohima Law College, assistant professor, Visevenuo Pienyu to take strong steps with regard to low marking system in semester examination for LLB students under Nagaland University.
According to KLCSU president, Vitoka K Aye, the issue was taken during the joint meeting with Nagaland Law Students Federation (NLSF).
Vitoka said due to low marking system, LLB students could not come out in first class in their academic career and the students denied the opportunities for pursuing higher legal studies like LL.M and were unable to compete in other judicial service examination even after completing their degree.
In this regard, KLCSU appealed to NLSF to pressurize Nagaland University in introducing internal examination in the semester system by means of assignment, presentation, which would be beneficial to law students in the long run. At the meeting, principal of KLC informed that Rs. one lakh had been invested for the college library in 2015 from the college fund.
Further, NLSF president, Lanusowa called for coordination between the college authority and KLCSU for the welfare of the students.
NLSF informed that the 7th biennial general conference would be held on September or October 2016, and for which Kohima Law College has been requested to host the conference.
