Student bodies condemn Feb 14 incident

Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) and Diphupar Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has condemned the assault melted out to NSF officials on February 14, during their visit for Lui-Ngai-Ni festival in Ukhrul by Manipur police commandos.
In a joint press release, Diphupar Naga Students’ Union president Sakulemba Jami and Dimapur Naga Students’ Union Sungkum Aier has expressed concern for the Nagas as well as the general masses travelling through Manipur, often perpetrating such acts by Manipur police against innocent civilians. 
The student bodies have extended their support to the ultimatum served by Naga students Federation striving for justice and security and further appealed for better co-ordination to shun incidents in future for cordial relationship.  
SKK: All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) has vehemently condemned the act of harassment done on NSF team on February 14 while they were on official duty to Manipur. 
The union said the act of cruelness by the Manipur police commandos was intolerable and also shows misusing of laws. SKK said the union stood and strongly support the ultimatum served by NSF to the government of Manipur.                                                                                                                            
ERSU: Englan Range Students’ Union (ERSU) has strongly condemned the alleged harassment and assault on Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) executive members by Manipur police commandoes on February 14. 
In a press release, ERSU general secretary, Rhanbemo Patton and women coordinator, Hachilo Ngullie said that it would not tolerate such violence act and urged the Manipur government to fulfil the memorandum submitted by NSF at the earliest. ERSU further assured that it would stand by NSF decision over the issue
