
State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) Nagaland conducted three-day training programme on “conservation agriculture for sustainability” for ATMA functionaries from February16 to 18 at SAMETI hall Medziphema.
Director SAMETI, Nguzonyi Wetsah, while addressing at the valedictory function challenged the participants to create an impact in the life of farmers with modern technology of farming.
He said this would enhance farmers’ economy and living standard would be lifted up, whereby farmers would remember the good deeds of the department.
Quoting that “A man lives not by years but by deeds”, he encouraged the trainers to impart the same topics of the training to the farmers community at district and block levels when they went back.
Resource persons for the training assistant professor department of Agronomy SASRD NU, Dr. Lanunola Tzudir, assistant professor Dr. Debika N and associate professor & head, department of Agronomy, Dr. L.Tongpang, imparted training to the trainees on the topic dealing with crop residue management, soil management and sustainable agriculture, resource conservation respectively.
The programme was chaired by DPD, Tiajungla Longchar, vote of thanks by DPD, Sentinaro Longchar. Certificates were awarded to trainees by the director SAMETI.
