Old Jalukie Village Council has condemned the attack on forest officer-in-charge of Intangki National Park, Kenlumtatei on April 28. In a press note, OJVC chairman, Hainkieng Hiekha said that the officer while on duty with his staff was allegedly attacked by some villagers from Lilen. OJVC further said that the officer and his staff were attacked without any reason with sticks and machete, inflicting injuries to some. The injured were taken to CHC Jalukie. In this regard, OJVC has urged the concerned authorities to nab the culprits and award befinnting punishment for the deliberate act of barbarism with ill intent. It also requested the Forest department to provide proper security to its officials and staff on duty.
