Sensitization prog on disaster management held in Tuensang

In the wake of recent natural calamities that has affected Nagaland a sensitization programme on “disaster management” was organized by DEF Tuensang in collaboration with Nagaland State Disaster Management Agency (NSDMA) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Tuensang at St. John’s Higher Secondary School, Tuensang, Wednesday.
According to a press release by superintendent of police Tuensang, R Vikram Ezung, the first session commenced with the “evacuation drill demonstration” by students of St. John’s Higher Secondary School, Tuensang.
Delivering the keynote address, deputy commissioner Tuensang Alemjongshi Jamir, who is also an ex-officio chairperson of district disaster management agency Tuensang, highlighted about the consequences of natural calamities. He also cautioned the participant about the hazards of man-made calamities. 
Short speeches were also delivered by the SP Tuesang and ADC Tuensang Nchumbemo Odyou. The programme was followed by demonstration on rescue operations by members of the Tuensang unit of SRDF. The students were also imparted hands on training on first aid and a discussion on school safety measures and evacuation drill practice was also conducted.
