PVHSS celebrates Tagore’s 155th birth anniversary

Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School (PVHSS), Dimapur celebrated 155th birth anniversary of Rabindra Nath Tagore on May 8 at Pranab jubilee auditorium.
The programme started with the garlanding of Shrimat Swami Pranabanandaji Maharaj, Kabiguru Rabindra Nath Tagore, Late Manik Bhattacharjee, founder secretary and other founding fathers of the school. 
In his opening speech, founder headmaster, L.C. Das, dwelt upon the educational policy of Tagore. PVHSS principal, Monoj Bhattacharjee, also gave a vivid idea regarding the various dimensions of Tagore’s life and philosophy. He urged upon the students and others to follow the ideals established by our national heroes.
The programme was followed by a colourful cultural extravaganza where special items of attraction were presented by guest artist Shatakshi Bhattacharjee and ex-students Chandrima Das and Rosy Mallick. A dance drama ‘Ritu Ranga’ was also presented at the function, vote of thanks was delivered by assistant teacher, Bimal Ojha.
