
Office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) along with District Health Society (DHS), NHM and Department of Health & Family Welfare (DH&FW) Kohima held district review meeting on May 12 at its conference hall.
Citing on account of Universal Immunization programme, DPO (RCH-UIO) Dr. Avile Zao insisted all the medical officers to be more prompt in conducting immunization session and do monitoring well after every immunization week, since the universal immunization program upholds to improve the child health and inculcate better health seeking behavior. She delivered a presentation on last achievements of district immunization performance and shared the templates for presentation program wise and block wise. Dr. Avile also stressed on the need of being more responsible in the immunization schedule as health providers are the fore front when comes to immunizing a child health. She also highlighted on the immunization schedule, the work plan and session plan. She pointed that basing on maintaining cold chain on immunization site, health providers should know the importance of Village Health & Nutrition Day (VHND) with proper logistic and manpower. Dr. Avile said under the universal immunization programme, recording and tracking of drop- outs is the mainstream of the immunization chart. Meanwhile, DTO, Dr. Asünü also informed the house regarding Revised National TB control programme while ZLO Dr. Aseno also shared on NLEP to the medical officers. Later, technical presentation on health unit was delivered by Dr. Cheyale Kath, MO, Chunlikha PHC with the performance outcome of last financial year. In review to presentation, CMO, Dr. Avino Metha informed the house to do comparative study of every health units under their jurisdiction at the block level. CHC Chiephobozou has been slated to give presentation in the next review meeting. The meeting was attended by program officers, SMOs, MOs, DPMUs and BPMUs.
