NPF Phek has endorsed the suspension order of Lok Sabha MP, Neiphiu Rio, saying that the action was taken due to “unavoidable” reasons.
In a press note, president NPF Phek, Chivotso Nienu stated that NPF president Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu, after considering all things, had taken the right decision in order to save the government. While acknowledging the Rio’s contribution to the State’s development, NPF Phek maintained that the “vicissitudes” of politics gave rise to certain situations and that NPF had to introspect deeply before finalising its decision regarding the suspension.
Meanwhile, NPF Phek also lauded the efforts of chief minister, T. R. Zeliang, stating that in spite of political rumbles within the party, he had weathered it with flying colours and added that NPF-led DAN III government was headed for better times.
