
Parliamentary secretary YRS, MTF, and state lotteries, Khriehu Liezietsu has declared that Regional Centre of Excellence for Music and Performing Arts (RCEMPA) Jotsoma would be free of charge for the local musician’s events and for the performing arts activities with immediate effect. He announced this during the world music day celebration occasion as the chief guest at RCEMPA Jotsoma on Tuesday night.
For the first time in the state capital, renowned Naga musicians celebrated world music day with the rest of the world with free entry for music lovers and fans of local musicians. The event was organized by Symphony production and sponsored by Nagaland Music Task Force (MTF).
A well-known musician Bokato performed the warm piece of music for the concert followed by popular band ‘Divine connection.’ The other bands that enthralled the music lovers included ‘Alobo Naga and the band’, ‘polar lights’, ‘Dexterians’, ‘Girls excess’ , ‘Rodeo Clowns’ and the individuals that mesmerized the audience were Metet Jamir, Virie & Zaza , Oren Mozhui, Gideon, Avilie, Noune, Atso, Pezet Newme and others.
The gathering also offered special tribute to late Lamtsala Odyuo of Purple fusion band and observed one minute silent prayer for the departed soul.
Earlier, free choral workshop by Vimezo Iralu and free Music class by Symphony Academy of music were conducted. The hall was fully packed with thousands music lovers. (Correspondent)
