
Konyak Union (KU) in a press statement said that the issue between NSCN (R) and Food and Civil Supply department, Mon, with regard to public supply rice (PDS) in Mon, has been amicably resolved once and for all.
In this, regard KU has urged upon both the parties to immediately withdraw all forms of complains.
Since the issue was related for the benefits of the public, the KU president, S. Manlip Konyak and general secretary, Honang Konyak said it was compelled to invite both the parties on July 11, 2016 at Mon town and after thorough study and analyses based on the verdict from both sides, the matter was resolved.
Further, for general understanding and peaceful co-existence, it was also resolved that no afterward incidences should arise in future, said KU.
While appreciating the good gesture of the NSCN (R) in returning the busted commodities, the KU fervently appealed to NSCN (R) to issue directives/code of conduct to its entire military and civil officials to abstain from any illegal and immoral activities within Konyak soil. On the other hand, the KU has also appealed to the F&SC Mon to implement all the schemes judiciously so that justice would be delivered to the poor Konyak public.
Further, KU acknowledged the certain confessionary statements of both the parties on the following points.
Firstly, the stand of NSCN (R) “on its motives behind such act which was moved in delivering social justice for the poor”, and the “justification statement made by NSCN (R) on the sanctity of its Cease-Fire monitoring office. Hence, no baseless or defamatory accusation should be levied against the Government in future”.
KU also said that it had found out that the “public rented storage was official and not illegal as accused upon”.
Meanwhile, the union applauded the timely intervention of the district administration and law enforcing authority in curbing the situation.
Further, KU has appealed to all sections of societies, head of the departments, NPGs to restrain from all sorts of commotion/activities that might disrupt the peaceful existence within Konyak jurisdiction.
