Association of Power Engineer’s Nagaland (APEN) has appealed the state government to take remedial measures to mitigate the power crises prevailing in the state and also urged the consumers to maintain calm and bear with the inconveniences caused due to frequent power outrage.
In a release its president Er. Shikato Sema and general secretary Er. Rukongutuo Suohu stated that for the last few months, power supply to various districts like Kiphiri, Phek, Kohima, Wokha and Dimapur has been badly affected due to the sudden breakdown of power transformers. It said the outrage in these districts has caused unprecedented lost and hardships to the citizens.
The association stated that the present unpleasant situation caused due to the power outrage was well anticipated by APEN because the state government could not provide the bare minimum basic consumable items required for the upkeep of power and distribution transformers, high tension lines and low tension lines. APEN stated that it was not too late for the government to put its act together to avoid further worsening power position as the apprehensions has been brought to the notice of the state government on several occasions and through the print media.
