UCTE celebrates ‘Azaadi 70’, ‘Independence 70’

Unity College of Teacher Education (UCTE) celebrated “Azaadi 70” “Independence 70” focused on the theme “YaadkaroQurbani” by the students and teachers from 9th to 23rd August 9 to 23. 
Principal UCTE, Dr.T.Yolila Sangtam highlighted the main idea of the event, about the life and history, and the impact of freedom fighters who made stoic sacrifices so that “we” could have a free and prosperous nation. 
On August 9, Quit India Day was observed with patriotic songs, quiz and essay competitions. On the following days recap of Jallianwala Bagh Massacre was enacted through skits and plays by different groups of B.Ed students. Paintings and drawing on the life and history of icons of freedom struggle was actively participated by the students. A debate was also organized among the different groups. 
On the evening of August 14 a candle light freedom march in the campus was observed. On the later part of “Yaadkaro Qurbani” fortnight, sports event was conducted and officially declared open by the Principal, wherein the faculty and students took part in different games and sports with great enthusiasm and unity. The event was closed with a brief prize distribution ceremony and sung patriotic songs ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Sare Jahan Se Acha’.
