Farmers trained on silk technology

One day farmers training programme on improved silk technology was jointly organized by Central Silk Board and Department of Sericulture on September 6 at Hotel Japfu, Kohima.
Secretary of Sericulture, C.M. Tsanglao, IAS graced the occasion as chief guest, where he had expressed gratitude to the team of scientists from Central Silk Board for their constant support to the state department in overall development of silk industry. 
He also suggested and advised farmers to adopt with the new technologies and transfer into realities at field level for better production and productivity. 
Topics on different new adopted sericulture practices were disseminated to the farmers by Dr. B.K. Singh, director, CMER & TI, G. Rajkhowa, scientist -D and Dr. S. A. Ahmed, scientist -C from Central Silk Board, Lahdoigarh.Total of 38 stakeholders from neighboring villages of the district along with departmental technical staff took part in the programme. The training was chaired by director of Sericulture, Chandan Basera and vote of thanks was said by DSO Kohima, M. Meyase.
