Native Trax Society, the organizers of Music Awards of Nagaland (MAN) has invited entries for its eighth edition of the awards to be held this year tentatively in the first week of December.
Announcing this during a press conference at Cinescope, Duncan Basti, Dimapur, Tuesday, head of the society Mengu said unlike the previous years where the Song of the Year Awards were based voting cards, this year the award will be based on likes and shares a song would garner through online portals like YouTube and MAN FB page.
He added that the rest of the awards would be judged by a panel of judges and that no member of the society would be included in that panel in order to maintain transparency and fairness in determining the award winners.

Artists, recording studios, producers or their respective representatives are invited to submit entries. Original compositions recorded within Nagaland and released anytime after
1st November 2015 are eligible for consideration and entry. But songs which have already been entered in the last awards screening would not be eligible.
Some major changes in the rules that has come into effect this year includes:
•There will be no entry fees
•For Song of the Year, there will be no voting card system. The award of ‘Song of the Year’ will go to the nomination which secures the highest points based on ‘Likes’ and ‘Shares’ on the MAN Facebook page and number of views on the MAN Youtube channel.
•A new award category viz. Best Songwriter/ Lyricist is also being introduced this year.
•All entries are to be submitted either by email to musicanagaland@gmail.com or via Whatsapp on 9089-40-9715. However, those willing submit in person can do so at the office of Native Trax at NST Colony, Circular Road, Dimapur
Each entry must include:
i.A duly signed and filled up entry form.
ii.An Audio song or music video (or the audio/ video link) (either or both)
iii.Lyrics (Entries in Hindi/ local dialect should include an English subtitle)
iv.Artist/ Band profile with clear and high pixel photograph.

It may be mentioned here that Native Trax Society, instituted in the year 2009 has been organizing MAN through which it has been honoring local musicians/artistes each year for their artistry and originality by rewarding excellence in music of different genres.
Over the last eight years, the Music Awards of Nagaland has put the spotlight on some truly remarkable homegrown talents. It has showcased musicians and others involved in the local music industry and helped them win recognition and fame.
