The Co-founders Union (CU) of Phekerkrie Basa village has issued a warning to all those villagers and village leaders selling and mortgaging lands at Phekerkrie Basa, stating that it will not allow anybody to sell their forefather’s land to others.
“It is learnt that some vested village leaders are looting the properties, lands of our forefathers and selling, mortgaging at Khekerkrie Basa, so we will not by any means give an iota of these lands to anyone.” stated the press note issued by Neiphre-u, chairman Phekerkrie Basa Co-founders Union. It further stated that it will not allow any unqualified persons to “appoint among themselves to be village leaders to loot the present properties in all movable or non-movable assets, and government funds etc.”
