Drawing attention to the false allegations lodged by graduate teacher, Krovelhupe Koza against a student Sehuto Nakro, a juvenile of 17 years, who was “brutally manhandled and physically assaulted” by the duty officer, the Thenyizumi Youth Social & Welfare Organization (TYS&WO), Phek has expressed its deepest antipathy over the inhuman act on October 24 and 25 at North Police Station, Kohima.
A press note by TYS &WO president, Mohusa Swiho to the concerned authority stated that the investigating agency should not create legal lacuna and suppression of material evidence.
TYS &WO therefore has been compelled to place the following demands for immediate proper action thereon: To ensure that trial of concerned accused persons be completed with outmost urgency and expedite the trial within next six months; To ensure that no bail be granted and any attempt whatsoever to rescue the culprit would be doing so at his/her own risk; To ensure that befitting punishment is awarded to all those found guilty of committing this crime and to notify the public of the action taken.
