
In a move towards beautifying the different colonies and wards of Kohima, minister for Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire has initiated cleaning, whitewashing and face-lift of the state capital.
As committed in the recent Kohima District Planning and Development Board meeting, the minister has provided the paint and other materials to the different colonies and wards, while the work is being executed by the respective Panchayats in collaboration with colony/ward women, youth bodies and denizens.
Several colonies and wards conducted mass social work Saturday along with painting and beautification while various colonies had executed the work some days back.
The minister personally inspected the ongoing works in the colonies and wards and encouraged the people to uphold clean environment and also make Kohima much more beautiful.
