
Much to the relief of the farmer participants at the hornbill festival, department of Horticulture has on Saturday inaugurated Farmers Hostel at the Hortiscape Kisama by its director Watienla Jamir.
The hostel was constructed under RKVY scheme at the cost of Rs.37,18,750 and the construction was completed within a span of three months. During the inauguration, the director lauded the directors, the team of engineers and her staff for their effort in timely completion of the hostel.
She was hopeful that the hostel would ease the difficulties of the farmers who come to participate in the hornbill festival. While acknowledging the cooperation of the Phesama Village Council, she also appealed the PVC to ensure that the infrastructure constructed for the public is not damaged. Farmers can avail the four-room hostel during Hornbill festival.
The director also inaugurated Marketing shed at Jakhama earlier in the morning.
Officers and staff of the department, members of Watsu Mundang and PVC members attended the inaugural programme.
The programme was chaired by deputy director Horticulture A. Amos Ao.
