MTGBU appeals to F&CS deptt

Drawing the attention of Food and Civil Supplies department, the Medziphema Town GB Union (MTGBU) has highlighted the grievances faced by the poor people. It also reminded the department to ensure that poor people were not deprived of their genuine rights.
A press note by MTGBU general secretary, Rokovitso Kuotsu stated three-points to the department, wherein it pointed out that Priority Household (PHH) card holders were entitled to 5 kgs of rice per head per month, however only 4 kgs of rice per head has been distributed to general public. Furthermore, MTGBU pointed out that some PHH card holders were not able to get their due share as the quantity sanctioned by the concern department was not sufficient. It also stated that PHH holders should get sugar through PDS but till date no sugar has been distributed.
In this regard, MTGBU has questioned the department concerned as to why it was not able to distribute sugar to the common public and why the sanctioned quantity of rice was not being distributed. In this regard, MTGBU has urged upon the department to take up the matter on priority.
