Team of 44 Assam Rifles based on specific input with respect to illegal taxation and extortion by NSCN (R) in Longleng district, an operation was carried out in Kanching village on December 11.
According to PRO IGAR (N), during the search operation, an active NSCN (R) cadre, ‘self-styled kilonser’ Chongpon Phom, resident of Kanching Village was apprehended. PRO also stated that, one pt 22 Pistol, two magazines and 73 rounds along with incriminating documents were recovered from the cadre. The apprehended cadre was handed over to police station, Tuli, Nagaland.
