A blast took place on Monday at Akhegwo, 6 kms from Meluri when troops of 46 Assam Riles were on a routine patrol. However, no casualty/injury was reported in the incident.
According to OC Meluri police station, the explosion took place at around 12.30 noon, while AR troops were on routine patrolling duty. Police said no debris/articles were found at the blast site in order to ascertain whether it was an IED device or any other explosive device. No one has claimed responsibility for the blast till the time of filing the report.
