S.I. Jamir asks students to fight against corruption

Advisor Urban Development, S.I. Jamir on Wednesday has urged upon the student community to fight against all kinds of corruption for a progressive society.
 Jamir, a former president of Ao Students Conference (AKM), was speaking at the inaugural programme of 67th AKM three-day triennial conference held under the theme “Resolute Affirmation” at Changtongya village.
Highlighting the need for a corruption free society, S.I. Jamir said students should fight tooth and nail in eradicating corruption and election malpractices that exist in Nagaland.
Asserting that Ao Students Union was founded by forefathers in the most trying times, under British India administration, Jamir said the present generation should remember the pioneers with due honour and respect. He was also hopeful that the present generation would keep their legacies alive by following principles and virtues of AKM.
While delivering a short speech, deputy commissioner, Mokokchung, Sushil Kumar Patel, IAS, lauded the noble initiatives of AKM in uplifting the all-round welfare of the students and society in general. 
Welcome address was delivered by village council chairman, Imnakumzuk and introduction by AKM information & publicity secretary, Imlinungba Longkumer while the word of God was delivered by CBC Pastor, Rev. I Wati Jamir. 
The opening act was enacted by the students union of Changtongya, and special songs were presented by conference choir and Ao Students Union (AKT), Dimapur.
