Reiterating their demand that the state government provide two buses for students and basic infrastructure for new building by the second week of February, 2017, the Zisaji Presidency College Students’ Union (ZPCSU), Kiphire has threatened to launch indefinite mass agitation with hunger strike starting from February 15, 2017 if demands were not met within the stipulated period.
In a press release, general secretary Yanghore Sangtam stated that they have been demanding for those facilities since the last two years. However, the union said the state government has turned a blind eye to the problem faced by the student community of the college. ZPCSU added that “step motherly” attitude would no longer be tolerated.  It pointed out that new academic building was inaugurated on May 6, 2016, but was yet to function due lack of necessary infrastructural facilities and bus service.
The union pointed out that Zisaji presidency college being a small government college internal collection was very less and not sufficient to fulfil the minimum infrastructure maintenance activities of the college.
ZPCSU also stated that there was no special grant from the government to uplift the college and standard of higher education of the area.
It alleged that the state government has been ignoring the development of the college continuously by adopting “delaying techniques.”
