Dimapur Christian Forum (DCF) has requested all the churches and individuals to pray for lasting peace and solution to the existing socio-political issue in Nagaland.
A press note by DCF chairman, Rev. R. P. Murry stated that the DCF has assessed and analyzed the present situation “in depth” and has appealed to both government and civil society organizations to take right decision through God’s wisdom and grace.
It has earnestly appealed the all concerned to avoid further confusion, suffering and inconveniences caused to the public in general and the students’ community in particular.
DCF has also conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the relatives of late Thejaviza Metha and late Bendangningsang who were allegedly killed in the recent police firing.
Peace Channel: Peace Channel family has fervently appealed the government of Nagaland, all the tribal apex bodies and the civil organizations to settle the issue amicably by respecting and recognizing views and opinions.
Peace Channel has expressed hope that peaceful dialogue between government and civil society organizations may bring lasting solution to the exiting issue and promote peaceful co-existence among all. It also expressed deep sorrow to the families of late Thejaviza Metha and late Bendangningsang who were killed recently.
CNFC: Concerned Nagas for Change (CNFC), a conglomeration of various Naga tribes living in Delhi, said it was deeply disturbed by the recent developments in Nagaland and has earnestly appealled the general public to refrain from further “mob rampage on public properties and vandalizing government vehicles”.
A press note by CNFC convener, Kahorngam Zimik stated that Nagas need to introspect deeply within on how issues and differences could be sorted out amicably by peaceful means and in a civilized trend of dialogue.
It stated that collective sentiments of the people had put through the platform of JCC and timely intervention of the NBCC was accommodated to certainly acceptable level, whereby, the government had revoked and postponed the stated election, and successfully convinced to withdraw the case pending in Supreme Court.
CNFC also pointed out that it would be unwise to destroy “our” resources for which the government has to spend huge funds in rebuilding them.
In this regard, CNFC has appealed all the reasonable individual leaders and concerned Naga civil organizations to take the course of peacefully resolving the issues to bring back normalcy in the state.
