Dimapur-Kohima Sangtam Students’ Union (DKSSU) has expressed its displeasure and regret over the “irresponsible and thoughtless act” of the United Sangtam Likhüm Pümji (USLP) president Yonghopi, for attending the February 8 consultative meeting despite the directives of the apex tribal bodies, NTAC and JCC in general and Sangtam in particular.  A condemnation note by DKSSU vice president, John Anar stated that “such a defiantly erring individual defame the image of the tribe”, whereby the DKSSU has decided to firmly support the demand of the Sangtam Peoples Forum Dimapur District (SPFDD) and the Sangtam Union Kohima (SUK) to impeach the straying president. DKSSU also stated that “we commit our solidarity towards other apex Naga tribes who took up the struggle for the common cause of the Nagas”. DKSSU further conveyed deepest condolence to the bereaved families of the “government murdered” youths, late Bendangnungsang and Khriezavizo Metha and also late Tsapise Sangtam who lost their lives because of “government’s treacherous policy” and asserted that such act should be condemned by every Nagas within or outside Nagaland.
KUK: Advisor Konyak Union Kohima (KUK) L. Nyeiang in a press release stated that KUK supports the Naga people spearheaded by NTAC demanding the resignation of chief minister T.R. Zeliang on moral ground in connection with the ULB election. The union sincerely appealed the NBCC once again to mediate between the state government and the NTAC for finding amicable solution at the earliest to maintain peaceful co-existence amongst the Nagas.
