Troops of 3 Naga Hill Bn Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) along with Nagaland Police representatives busted an organized set up for collection of extortion money and arrested one NSCN (K) tax collector near BOC, Kohima on February 27.
According to PRO IGAR (N) Kohima, the individual identified as Tokuto Aye on interrogation revealed the flow of extortion money to UGs collected as tax from traders in Kohima through the area trade unions, which was sent to NSCN (K) and other proscribed groups. The individual was later handed over to OC, South Police Station, Kohima, PRO added.
