With the aim to enhance the language skills of the students, St. Xavier College Jalukie English department organized phonetics course on March 13 and 14, at the College Hall.
Resource person of the programme Shalom Rehabilitation Centre, Chumukedima, director Rev. Fr. Dr. Mathew Thuniampral, imparted the phonetic script vividly. He emphasised on the ardent need to articulate well the words, and to aim for rapid improvement in the art of distinctive and clear pronunciation.
Rev. Thuniampral entertained and trained the participants accentuating on learning phonetic symbols, reading phonetic symbols, rapid reading techniques, and mouth and tongue twisters to exercise mouth to pronounce better.
