
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland on Thursday celebrated its 37th anniversary at the party office in Dimapur.
In a message read out in the programme, State BJP president, Visasolie Lhoungu, called upon the party workers to continue working hard and efficiently to cope with any challenges and hurdles and take the party to newer heights. He also hoped for the continued valuable support of the people of the state for BJP.
Visasolie appealed the people to open their minds and not be constrained to support and join BJP by registering their memberships through the party offices spread throughout the state.
State executive member, James Vizo, spoke on the “Foundation History of National BJP with reference to State BJP” wherein, he highlighted the history of the events that led to the formation of the Jana Sangh of Shyam Prasad Mukerji, its merger with the Janata Party to form the Government in 1977 and eventually the disintegration and thereafter the formation of BJP on 6th April, 1980. State Executive Member, Temjen Imna Along Lkr, spoke on the topic “Challenges of BJP in contemporary times with reference to State Politics”.
He highlighted the growth of the BJP despite several hurdles faced, to be what it was today and encouraged the party workers to face the challenges and aim high to take the party where it should be.
Pointing out the weaknesses and strengths of the party, he decried any negative traits of the party members’ particularly baseless gossips and assumptions that would undermine its general efforts and achievements.
State vice president, Tsasepi Sangtam, spoke in length encouraging and advising the party workers to work together cohesively without complaints. He assured the party workers that nothing was impossible through unity and wished everyone the best wishes of the party’s anniversary.
Earlier, after the hoisting of the party flag, the function chaired by state president BJMM, Sanuo Ngullie, commenced with invocation by BJYM president Dominic Vikuho. A special song was presented by Vikheli and group of Mahilas extolling the virtues of Christianity.
Meanwhile, the party has informed that Kailash Vijayvargiya, BJP National general secretary, was scheduled to visit Nagaland on April 10-11. Further information on his itinerary shall be accordingly furnished at a later date, it stated.
