Review meeting of Social Welfare Department held

Joint secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Women & Child Development K. Moses Chalai who is on an official visit to the State visited various service Centres established for Women & Children on May 9. 

A review meeting was also held with the officials of the Social Welfare Department chaired by secretary Dellirose M. Sakhrie. Director T. Merangtsungba Aier gave an overview of the ICDS implementation in the State, mission director, State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW) Daisy Mezhur and Gracy Ayee, SRCW presented on the status of One Stop Centre, Women Helpline, Mission Porna Shakti and VCFS, Juliana Medom, SRCW and SDO (C) Zhoi Lohe briefed about the implementation of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao in the State and District level respectively and additional secretary Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe presented on the State Child Protection Society. 

This was followed by a meeting with the chief secretary, Pankaj Kumar.

Moses also inspected the Kohima Orphange Home and the Anganwadi Centre at D-Block, Kohima, recently established Sakhi- One Stop Centre, Kohima and the official trip concluded with a visit to the Women helpline (181) which provides 24 x 7 services to women affected by violence.
